4 WINWIN COMBO (CB277) D Whyte -- Jumped with them, nice ride to slot in from outside gate into 2-wide line in midfield, raced 4Ls away in mid-section, had easy time to turn, eased clear 3-wide on turning, closed hard to chase down leader in shadows of post.
7 STRIKE TO WIN (CD361) K T Yeung -- Fastest to leave gates, went on with job to take up running, backed of speed nicely in mid-section, set very slow pace and held 1L advantage on turning, worked strongly in straight and just run down on line.
12 DANEPRINT (CC221) Y T Cheng B Slowly into stride, lacked speed early and hard ridden to hold spot 4 back on rails, had easy time in mid-section, still back on rails on turn, made good ground between runners in straight to make good ground for 3rd.
11 BAYVIEW LAD (CC148) F Coetzee B/TT2 Amongst first few to begin, settled in prominent spot outside leader 1L away, not asked with slow speed in mid-section, travelled comfortably on turn, tried hard but was one-paced in straight.
3 FAIRPLAY (CC258) A Delpech -- Began well, challenged for early lead, settled for spot behind leader leaving straight, enjoyed run of race with pedestrian speed, in traffic behind them on turning in, not going well enough to split and kept same clip to line.
10 JOY AND TREASURE (CD251) S Dye V/TT Only fair to break, settled in usual spot towards rear, raced 5Ls away on rails throughout, not suited by slow speed, still well back on turning, closed race off well, but set too great a task in straight.
8 FIGS (CE141) M Odendaal B Average break, had enough speed to hold midfield spot early, raced 1 out 1 back 3Ls away in middle stages, enjoyed nice run thereafter, niggled along coming 3-wide on turning, lacked a sprint and battled home.
9 RED FORTUNE (CE192) M Nunes B2 Slowly into stride, showed no early toe and assumed rearward role, raced on rails 6-7Ls off leaders, lobbed along at tail with slow speed in front, still last on turning, passed some tired runners in the straight.
6 MODERN PROSPECT (CC070) E Saint-Martin -- Broke with line, taken to rails to hold midfield position, enjoyed quiet trail 3Ls down in mid-section, not asked until turn, in traffic but never going well enough turning in, gradually weakened.
2 CAPTAIN BUNNY (CD367) K W Tsui -- Standard beginning, ridden up to take close order, posted 3-wide without cover 2Ls from leaders, always working in mid-section, under pressure and weakening on turn, gradually lost touch after hard run.
1 SWEETIE (CB036) H W Lai B/TT Bounded in air and lost ground, settled next to last, raced 2-wide 6Ls from front runners, switched 3-wide with cover, always well back there to turn, came 3-wide in straight, didn't find when asked and battled to line.
