10 DR HAENSLER (CE003) M Odendaal P Broke with line, slotted nicely into 1 out 1 back spot, enjoyed run of race 2Ls away with cover, tracked well to turn, angled into clear on straightening, steadily closed over the top of them last 100 M to score narrowly.
8 JET RISE (CD346) Y T Cheng SB/H Out with rest, showed good dash to take up running, challenged in lead throughout, no real speed on to bend, just held advantage kicking back on turning, fought strongly for length of straight only to be denied in the shadows.
3 SUGAR AND SON (CE264) O Doleuze BO1 Began nicely, took up trail behind leader, had easy time thereafter using nothing to turn, stoked up into straight, run closed at 250 M but got into clear at 150 M, made good ground late despite hanging.
11 BEAMING RIVER (CB078) W M Lai -- Bumped early, didn't possess early pace, raced 3-back on rails 4Ls away, not asked thereafter, still midfield on turn, in traffic for most of straight bumping at 250 M. Kept steadily closing to make frame late.
9 FLAG FINDER (CE224) D Whyte -- Average break, pressed forward from wide alley to take closer order, raced 3-wide outside the leaders without cover, challenged on turn and threatened until 100 M but fitness gave out after working hard. (Checked late.)
2 MURCIELAGO (CE004) B Prebble B Jumped with rest, settled off speed in midfield 4Ls from them, raced 2-wide between horses throughout, back in pack on turn, lacked turn of foot but steadily finished off when in clear to be nearest at finish.
6 A-TACK (CC343) A Delpech B Began evenly, didn't have early toe and drifted back to worse than midfield, posted 3-wide with cover 4Ls away, circled 5-wide on bend, began to close nicely down outside but only plugged last 200 M.
12 ZABEEL VICTORY (CE101) H W Lai -- Slow to begin, assumed rearward role, raced on rails 6Ls off pace, had fair run in mid-section, still well back on turn, stuck to rails in straight, made up some ground but was never really a factor.
7 PEACH BLOSSOM (CC309) K T Yeung B2/TT Broke reasonably, up amongst them early, couldn't slot in and posted 3-wide 3Ls away with cover, still midfield on bend, came 4-wide into straight couldn't offer a sprint and plugged to line.
5 CONSTELLATION (CE025) E Saint-Martin B Fair to leave stalls, settled near to last 2-wide 6Ls away, always struggling and had field to beat on turn, began to make some ground but hanging in made it difficult and was checked. Never really looked likely.
1 WYNDAM PLENTY (CD356) D Nikolic B1/TT Shade slower to break than usual, pressed on wide to race outside leader, applied pressure throughout heading leader, still there under pressure into straight, soon gave in and weakened right out of it.
4 MAJIN BUU (CC334) F Coetzee V/TT Broke nicely, pressured on from widest alley, trapped 4-wide outside leaders, always doing a power of work, under pressure 1L down on bend, couldn't sustain run and dropped well back in straight.
