3 1 GOODY (CD239) K L Chui -- Average to leave gates, assumed usual position near to last, raced on rails 8Ls off pace, used little in run, on bridle with job to do on turn, made huge amount of ground flying late to go down in 3 way finish (dropped whip).
4 4 GUNG HO (CE020) W M Lai B Broke nicely, displayed plenty of speed to take up running, overraced a touch in front but controlled tempo nicely to turn, kicked strongly on turning, held advantage to 200 M but couldn't match finish of first 3.
5 3 STAY YOUNG (CD109) F Coetzee -- Began awkwardly, kept there to slot in nicely 3Ls off speed, 2 wide between horses with good run throughout, in traffic on turning, didn't really get going in straight but ran on a bit last 100 M.
6 5 SIR GALAHAD (CG272) B Prebble -- Standard beginning, soon drifted back towards rear of field, raced 6Ls back in 2 wide position, travelled steadily to turn, tracked 4 and 5 wide into straight, closed evenly without threatening down outside.
7 7 THISTLE KING (CE231) D Nikolic -- Bounced nicely, showed toe to hold leaders back early, had easy time thereafter with even clip, tracked well to turn, run opened at top of straight, unable to find when they sprinted and only held ground to line.
8 14 FLYING BISHOP (CA296) M Nunes TT Quick to leave gates, pressed on but unable to slot in, forced to race 3 wide without cover 2Ls away, kept working throughout, moved up to challenge on turn, still giving until 200 M but workload told and weakened late.
9 12 INFINITE DELIGHT (CG314) A Delpech -- Bounced out, restrained to rear division from wide gate, eventually settled 2 wide 8Ls off pace, on bridle on circle, came with 5 wide run widest on turn, kept slowly breaking down margin to be closest on line.
10 2 TOM'S SIX (CG264) S Dye B Began in line, pressed forward to take close order, took on leader using a bit before travelling at leaders girth, 1L down on turning, didn't respond when they sprinted, faded out after working.
11 9 DASHING THUNDER (CD080) O Doleuze B Average jump, raced just worse than midfield 2 wide 5 to 6Ls away, travelled well throughout between horses hanging and caught in behind them to 200 M, didn't go up a notch when clear and was one paced to line.
12 8 CLASSA WIN (CA115) H W Lai -- Standard beginning, urged along to drive through on rails to be 4Ls from frontrunners, had easy time thereafter, stuck to rails in straight, had plenty of clear running but only kept on at same pace to line.
13 13 PERFECT FEELING (CH035) E Saint-Martin B Slow to begin, made good ground to position 6Ls away on rails, raced on bit travelling strongly in mid-section, still towards rear on rails to turn, unable to make impression in straight and battled to line.
14 10 SUNBELL (CB391) K W Tsui CP Began better than usual and raced much close, positioned 1 out 1 back 1 length away, had run of race to turn, couldn't offer when sprint went on gradually lost touch last 100 M to be well beaten.
