2 5 FIFTY FIFTY (CD131) G Mosse -- Began nicely, rolled forward from awkward gate, raced 3 wide 2Ls away with cover, tracked well to turn, angled 4 wide into straight, came with strong finish hitting lead at 200 M, overhauled by winner last furlong.
3 12 DON FELIPE (CD273) D Nikolic -- Out with line, faded back to next to last, raced on rails 8Ls off pace, not asked in mid-section, had field to beat on turn, angled 5 wide into straight, came with big run down middle of track making significant ground to take 3rd.
4 14 ENGINEERING WONDER (CB300) C K Tong -- Average to break, didn't share early speed, drove through to race in midfield on rails 5Ls away in traffic searching for run on turning in finally got into clear at 200 M and closed off nicely to make frame.
5 11 WINNING REWARD (CE254) H W Lai B Jumped only fairly, ridden up to hold midfield position, raced 2 wide 4 to 5Ls away in midfield, tracked well between horses on bend, clear running presented at 350 M but lacked usual turn of foot, steadily closed to line.
6 8 JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE (CD274) M Nunes -- Reasonable break, showed usual speed to be up challenging early, raced outside leader 1L away, pressured with horse on outside there to turn, kept chasing in straight, didn't go up a gear and finished evenly at same pace.
7 2 SILVER SUN (CE126) W M Lai -- Jumped with rest, lost advantage and settled in rearward division, raced 3 wide 6Ls away, angled 4 and 5 wide on bend, didn't offer a sprint but finished off stoutly at same pace to be nearest on line.
8 7 SUGAR ON TOP (CG274) O Doleuze V1 Began awkwardly and crowded early, ridden hard to drive up to be 4Ls back on rails, had easy trip thereafter, on bridle to turn, stuck to paint in straight, closed off well before steadied at 200 M, same pace to line.
9 1 TCHAIKOVSKY (CE030) B Prebble BO Broke with them, displayed customary speed to slide forward and take up running, kept them rolling with pressure on at solid clip, held 1/2L on turning, kicked hard to 200 M but run ended and lost touch late.
10 3 YELLOW DIAMOND (CD246) D Whyte V Bounced out well, allowed to relax in prominent role 1 out 1 back trailing speed, had good run 2Ls back, amongst horses on turning, run closed at 300 M, regathered but finished only at same pace to line.
11 6 PRETTY TRIO (CB343) M Odendaal SR Out well, checked when attempting to go forward, forced to race 3 wide in midfield 4Ls back, had cover on bend and travelled strongly turning in, unable to go up a gear when they sprinted and battled away to line.
12 4 TRIUMPHANT UNICORN (CD166) S Dye -- Even break, restrained from wide alley to race at tail, further back than usual 2 wide 8Ls away from lead, tracked 4 wide with field to beat on turn, made no real impression giving huge start in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)
13 9 WEALTHY TREASURE (CC270) R Fradd -- Jumped with rest, held forward spot behind leader 2Ls away, had run of race in mid-section, niggled along approaching turn, didn't have turn of foot when they sprinted and steadily faded out.
14 10 CALIFORNIA PRINCE (CD079) K L Chui TT First to hit ground, went on in search of lead, unable to cross and posted 3 wide without cover, challenged 1L away working throughout, still there on the bend, found nothing when asked and tired after hard run.
