1 CALIFORNIAMOUNTAIN (CG310) K L Chui TT First to hit ground, led them easily but had pressure applied from 1200 M, retained rails holding outside horse by 1L to Rock, drove through on circle and regained lead turning, kicked strongly in straight to deny rivals.
12 SOLAR POWER (CE047) Y T Cheng TT Away only fairly, pressed on wide out to cross in behind speed on rails, raced behind leaders 1-2Ls back, had an easy time throughout, tried to angle out but kept in on turning, only clear last 100 M and closed nicely when clear.
2 SUNBELL (CB391) C K Tong -- Began nicely, moved forward again racing 3Ls back on rails, had run of race throughout taking 1 out 1 back spot at mid-point, advantaged by easy pace and switched out 3-wide turning in, one-paced but kept on well for a place.
4 FORTUNE WARRIOR (CD096) S Dye B Average jump, didn't have much early pace, settled in rear division 2-wide 6Ls off them, dashed around them from 600 M, 3Ls down 4-wide on turning, threatened at 150 M but just couldn't catch them last 100 M. Solid to make frame.
9 CARRY GOOD NEWS (CG219) B Prebble -- Away with line, positioned nicely 3 to 4Ls back in a 2-wide role, steadied at mid-point and lost position passing Rock. Improved in narrow gap in straight and raced tight last 200 M. Didn't dash but produced an even finish.
11 MAGI JOY (CH056) C W Wong B Amongst first to break, pressed on in search of lead and applied pressure to leader, didn't fully cross and raced 3 or 4Ls clear on outside, still there on bend, kept to task in straight but run ended at 200 M after early work.
7 SEASONS TREASURE (CB310) F Coetzee P Even jump, took up a midfield position leaving straight, raced 2-wide 5 to 6Ls back, not asked in mid-section, under pressure when they sprinted on bend, came again in straight and did best work late to be nearest on line.
8 TOY QUEST (CC036) G Mosse -- Slowly away, immediately at tail, raced at rear on rails 7 to 8Ls off speed, had a quiet time throughout, made a 3-wide run on bend, well back 4-wide turning in, closed evenly but gave away too great a start.
6 PERFECT FEELING (CH035) O Doleuze TT1 Awkwardly into stride, made a recovery to race on rails 4 to 5Ls back in midfield, had a quiet time and spent nothing to bend, kept to inside but had no run to the 100 M, only clear when race was over.
5 ROYAL FALCON (CE091) D Nikolic B/TT Average getaway, took up a spot at rear 8Ls off front runners, lobbed along at rear throughout, still towards rear making 4-wide run on bend, switched widest in straight and made some late ground without really threatening.
3 ESPERANZA (CG159) A Delpech -- Well enough to begin, trapped 3-wide without cover in midfield. Always working 3 to 4Ls back, urged along on bend, couldn't find extra in straight and weakened out from 200 M when workload took effect.
10 CONQUEROR (CE270) H K Yim V Standard jump, raced worse than midfield 6 to 7Ls back on rails, saved ground on circle, under pressure on turning, lacked dash in straight and just plugged away at the same speed to line.
