4 7 AMO (CB125) A Delpech -- Eased at start to cross to the rails towards the rear, 7-1/2Ls off the leaders, not suited by the slow pace, dashed strongly 200 M in between runners to make frame.
5 9 SPEED FIGHTER (CD355) H W Lai B Pushed early for a prominent spot, then soon took hold to sit 2Ls off the leaders and as a consequence raced keenly, 2-wide throughout, helped by the slow tempo, however just held ground in straight.
6 10 KINGS CROSS (CG124) B Prebble -- Eased to sit about midfield, trapped 5-wide at 1st bend then crossed to 2-wide, 3Ls behind the leaders, harmed by the slow pace, stayed flat until 200 M before showing some dash and making ground.
7 3 WINE WIN (CG018) K T Yeung B Hard ridden to take the rail and led by half a length at advantageous slow early sectionals, hung on until 250 M overhauled and weakened steadily.
8 6 HAR HAR CHARMS (CE100) D Whyte -- Pushed early for a few strides, but soon eased to sit about midfield, 3-1/2Ls behind the leaders along the fence, not suited by the slow pace, just held ground in straight, blocked 200 M, dashed fairly when clear.
9 12 SUPREMACY (CD315) S K Sit B Hard ridden to sit half a length outside the leader, favoured by the slow early sectionals, ran on ok until 200 M flattened.
10 2 PROPELLOR (CE263) W M Lai -- Pushed early for a more prominent spot, however checked 1st bend and lost ground, 5-1/2Ls off the leaders behind midfield along the rails, harmed by the slow pace and blocked most straight, little dash when clear late.
11 5 TOP TOP LIGHT (CG182) G Mosse B/TT Bumped start, hard ridden but then took hold to sit behind midfield, raced keenly afterwards 4-1/2Ls off the leaders, trapped 3-wide throughout and lost too much ground at bends, harmed by the tempo, didn't run on.
12 4 JUST RIGHT (CH300) K Shea SR Easily joined the pace group though trapped 6-wide at 1st bend, 1-1/2Ls off the slow pace, 3-wide at home bend, dropped off quickly in straight after losing too much ground at bends.
