4 SOUNDS BEST (CE255) D Beadman TT Began with more purpose, settled closer than usual, ended up 3-4Ls back on rails, used nothing with lack of speed on, tracked into clear making on straightening, came with well timed run to hit lead late and score narrowly.
9 FAT DRAGON (CD130) M W Leung -- Displayed expected speed to take lead, elected for a trail leaving first turn, had soft run throughout, angled out to challenge on turning, kept coming when hard riding and went down in 3 way go.
5 MAVERICK STAR (CE279) C W Wong -- Out well, pressed on from widest alley to eventually lead on first bend, controlled race perfectly with slow speed, 1L clear on turning, made rest chose and kept on strongly before being overhauled late.
7 CONGRATS (CG298) F Coetzee -- No pace from outset, ended up 5Ls back on rails, had a quiet trip but raced keenly, gained ground on bend, made plenty of progress along inside in straight to make frame. (Bled both nostrils.)
3 DISGUISE (CG004) O Doleuze B Average jump and failed to muster, settled further back than intended 3-4Ls away in running line, slow pace not ideal, tracked well between horses on bend, made even headway in straight to finish not far away.
10 OPERATION SECRET (CH081) G Boss -- Reasonable jump, ended up posted 3-wide 4-5Ls back in midfield without cover, did it tough despite modest tempo, improved on bend to be 3Ls back turning, stuck to task and finished creditably despite covering ground.
2 IMPERIAL APPLAUSE (CG209) E Saint-Martin B No early toe, drifted back to rear racing 7-8Ls back, unsuited by slow sections, tracked up 3-wide with cover along back, kept improving on bend, made gradual progress down middle to be nearest on line.
1 WINNING REWARD (CE254) G Mosse B Began with rest, faded back to slot into running line 6-7Ls away, not helped by slow tempo, improved 3-wide with cover passing Rock, made some late progress down middle without threatening.
6 TOM'S SIX (CG264) B Prebble B2 Out fairly, ended up 6Ls back in running line, raced keenly with slow tempo, race not run to suit, flat footed when they sprinted, unable to make progress in straight.
12 BOLD WIN (CE282) W M Lai B Began nicely, took up a prominent position, had an easy time with slow sections, still 1L back on bend, couldn't respond when sprint went on and dropped out of it late.
8 SING FAY FAY (CE074) K T Yeung B/TT Well enough to begin, slotted into prime position, 2Ls back in running line, had ideal run thereafter with slow pace, niggled along to go with them on turning, found little and dropped out easily.
11 SOUTH DAKOTA (CJ166) K L Chui XB1/TT1 Slow into stride, ended up sharing near 7-8Ls on fence, unsuited by slow tempo, still last turning, battled to line. (Roarer.)
