1 KEEN SOUL (CH092) F Coetzee B Broke well, 2-wide position in 3rd or 4th about 2Ls behind leader early, 1L back in 2nd off last bend, hard ridden to lead 100 M out, little to spare. (Lame and distressed.)
5 MAGIC KING (CH182) D Whyte B/XB Slowly away, 5Ls back in 8th or so initially and 4Ls back off last turn, made some good late ground along the inner to steal 2nd on the line.
8 PERFECT TREASURE (CH091) M W Leung B/TT Box-seated in 3rd or 4th on fence through to home straight, took a while to wind up, strong in final 100 M and only just missed quinella.
2 JUST RIGHT (CH300) C K Tong SR Best away and travelled nicely disputing the lead until the 600 M, 1L clear off last turn, headed by winner at 100 M and missed a place in last bound.
12 CHOICE AND CHANCE (CA381) B Doyle B No Comments on Running information for this horse.
4 CLASSA FOR EVER (CD085) K T Yeung TT Head up at the 600 M when about 4Ls back in 4th, closer turning in, had his chance to figure but failed to find another gear.
3 KINGSTON MARBLE (CE244) W M Lai B Awkward break, worse than midfield about 5Ls from the lead until home straight, made some minor late ground without troubling principals.
9 NEW TRIUMPH (CG105) S K Sit -- Lacked early pace and 6Ls last turning for home, ran on home evenly and never a contender.
11 WIKI WIKI (CD205) Z Purton -- Lost ground at the start and soon 8Ls last, retrieved modest ground in the straight but never one to worry about.
10 OPTIC KING (CE139) C W Wong SR/CP Never likely to respond to constant pressure nor closer than 4Ls from the lead at any stage, yielded further ground in the straight.
6 VICTORIOUS DRAGON (CJ009) M Du Plessis -- Always wide and no better than midfield, weakened in home straight. (Bled.)
7 TREASURE PLANET (CG117) H W Lai XB/H Disputed the lead until the 600 M, hung out very badly on the circle reducing rider to passenger status, unacceptable and to multiple trials.
