7 HEARTLINE (CJ330) E Saint-Martin TT1 Jumped fairly from an inside draw, pressed on to a forward spot tracking leaders, angled to the outside on straightening, battled on gamely to snatch victory in a desperately close 4-way finish.
5 TOY STORY (CJ217) W C Marwing -- Quickly away, soon taken to a midfield spot 3 to 4Ls behind leader, 2 wide coming out the bend, made good progress under a strong ride, powered home in the last 200 M, just touched off at the line.
1 BOOMING CITY (CE325) Y T Cheng B/TT Quickly taken to the front from a wide alley, set a fast pace alongside joint race leader, hit the front 200 M out, kept on strongly all the way to the line.
13 RICH DRAGON (CG079) C K Tong V Away with them, taken back to a rearward position 7Ls behind the leaders, showed remarkable acceleration down the inside rails on straightening, finished the race fastest, unlucky not to take a place.
4 CRAIG'S DRAGON (CH131) D Beadman -- Began awkwardly, settled in mid-division 5Ls off the pace, 2 wide and covered on turning, held up at 400 M, demonstrated strong finish effort when clear.
10 BRILLIANT CHAPTER (CJ100) M Du Plessis -- Began well, taken back but couldn't slot in and ended up 3 wide behind midfield, rounding the bend without cover, taken to outside on straightening, finished the race strongly.
3 THUNDER DANCING (CG250) Z Purton B Jumped with the rest, showed pace to cut across from outside and lead along the fence, still travelling nicely as they came out of the bend, under pressure 300 M out and faded gradually towards the line.
9 PLAN B (CJ123) O Doleuze XB-/TT Taken back shortly after the start, settled in midfield towards the rear 5Ls behind the leader, made headway despite tight run down straight before being checked approaching the winning post.
11 RARE TREASURE (CH150) D Whyte -- Began in line, difficult to settle, raced keenly in a spot 2 wide and 3Ls behind leaders, unable to sprint with them as tempo quickened, just held ground over concluding stages. (Lame.)
8 GOUF (CJ227) B Prebble -- Slowly into stride, soon settled very far at the back around 8Ls off the leaders, saved ground on bend, closed off fairly but only at same speed without looking likely.
6 DUMBARTON ROCK (CJ228) F Coetzee TT Even break, taken to the rails, travelled well enough some 4Ls off the pace, battled at same pace in run to line, no impression.
14 HAPPY MASTER (CE050) H W Lai SR Lacked early pace, ridden to maintain a rearward position 7 to 8Ls behind the leader, 2 wide turning in, switched wider on straightening, never able to pick up.
2 WIN AGAIN (CD371) K T Yeung B/SR A little slow to begin, had no speed to keep up with the rest despite jockey's effort, soon detached, 10Ls to make up as they came out of the turn, ran home one-paced, soon dropped out.
12 WADADELIGHT (CC340) W M Lai B One of the first to jump, held a spot 5Ls back in 3 wide line, travelled wide and without cover throughout, under pressure as they turned, found nothing when asked, dropped off quickly last 200 M.
