4 BLUE SKY (CJ289) Z Purton PC/H Slowly away, raced in a rearward position 9Ls behind leader in early stages, crept closer approaching the Rock, came wide on turning, gradually found his stride in the straight and saw them off entering 50 M. Hung in late.
10 SUPER GENKI (CH195) W C Marwing TT Eased back on jumping, travelled in the rear trailing 10Ls early, inconvenienced by the slow pace down the back straight, switched wide near 300 M and made good progress but the winner found the necessary to hold on.
1 CHATER SILK (CG050) B Prebble B Held up patiently in a position behind midfield about 6Ls back, used little in running, responded well under pressure, made good progress down the centre of track to take 3rd on the line despite racing tight near 150 M.
9 UNIQUE SPEED (CG134) H W Lai TT Hard driven to the front after jumping from the wide barrier, caught wide on the 1st turn, alongside leader approaching home turn, under pressure from 400 M, stayed on well before his stamina gave way inside final 100 M.
12 SOLAR POWER (CE047) K T Yeung TT Jumped well, held a spot in midfield 3-4Ls back, travelled well enough going into straight, ran into an awkward position from 200 M and didn't have the clearest crack in run to line.
8 PACIFICO (CJ285) M Du Plessis -- Away quickly, drifted back to hold a midfield position on the rail, moved closer approaching the home turn, kept to inside on straightening, made fair headway but found no extra inside 100 M.
3 BILLION (CH316) Y T Cheng -- Standard break, pressed forward to take up early running, was given breather passing 800 M, held every chance going into last 200 M but ran flattened out thereafter, swamped by others inside 100 M.
11 THREE CLUBS (CG149) K L Chui -- Away with them, taken to a 3-wide position in mid-division without cover, 4Ls behind leader rounding home turn, had an uninterrupted run down the outside but was never quite getting there.
6 HIGH INTELLIGENT (CD317) M L Yeung B/TT Shaken up early to assume a prominent position on the rail just behind leader, tracked well to bend but couldn't pick up on straightening, finished the race one-paced.
2 NILOMETER (CD052) C W Wong B-/CP2/TT Maintained a midfield position 5Ls behind leader, 3-wide without cover entering back straight, moved up tracking leaders entering 800 M, asked near 200 M but gave a very limited response.
5 BEAUTIFUL CHOICE (CH130) C K Tong -- Moderate start, pressed on to take a handy position just behind leaders, unsuited by the slow pace down the back straight and was difficult to settle, into clear inside 300 M, lacked a finishing touch and was one-paced to line.
7 WARM EMBRACES (CJ162) D Whyte -- Ordinary jump, guided to a rearward position on the rail 7Ls back, not used in running, kept to inside on straightening, ran into traffic and unable to improve from 200 M. Not fully tested. (Jockey severely reprimanded re his riding)
