5 EVERGREEN (CE106) W M Lai B Enjoyed a cushy trail on the back of the handy tempo in 3rd on the rails until the last bend, led about 150 M out and did just enough to secure the win.
4 MAVERICK (CE199) K C Leung V/TT Always handily placed, just over 2Ls back in 4th at halfway, 3Ls down off last bend, had every chance inside the final furlong, just held by the winner.
10 CLOVIS (CH044) D Whyte B/XB/H 5Ls back in 9th at halfway, peeled out widest of all (6-wide) to challenge turning in, briefly loomed a winning chance 150 M out, did enough to place.
7 DASHING CHAMPION (CC015) C W Wong SR Led on fence by 2Ls passing post for the first time, maintained the lead before being headed 150 M out, tipped out of a place close home.
6 PACIFIC ALLIANCE (CC230) J Winks V Slowly away, 4-back on rails between 4Ls and 5Ls off pace through first half, held up 250 M out, nearest at the finish but never likely to place.
11 STAR OF CHIU TON (CJ175) B Doyle -- 8Ls last on rails passing winning post for the first time, 5Ls back in 9th turning in, finished off fairly well, nearest at finish, much improved effort.
8 HAPPY ALL AROUND (CD248) M Chadwick TT 3-back the rails when 4Ls back in 5th at the 1000 M and similarly placed off last bend, didn't have much room around the 200 M, held close home.
9 ROYAL PORTRAIT (CJ092) E Saint-Martin -- Midfield and 4Ls back 3-wide with cover at halfway, left without cover on the circle, launched a brief bid at top of home straight but run peaked 200 M out.
12 COOL RUNNINGS (CK014) M Du Plessis B- 2-wide in rear about 7Ls off steady early pace, same turning for home, always outpaced by the principals.
3 WONG'S FAVOURITE (CG131) Y T Cheng SR/V Close-up but trapped 3-wide no cover from wide gate through first half, 1L back in 2nd and pressured to lie up 500 M out, retreated steadily.
2 SUPER SURPRISE (CH210) J Lloyd B Always rearward and 3-wide sometimes without cover, not suited by the tempo and never at all likely to land a blow.
1 LUCKY MONEY (CE159) M W Leung -- Midfield at the 1200 M, never really travelling well and beaten before the home turn, to trial.
