8 MIGHTY SUN (CK058) K W Leung B Standard jump, caught 3 wide in midfield 5 to 6Ls back, did it tough without cover, kept improving turning in, joined in at 250 M, kept on under riding to prevail.
3 NEEDLES AND THREAD (CJ282) B Doyle B Bounced out, assumed ideal spot on leaders back, had run of race in mid-section, right there turning, went head to head with winner final 200 M going down narrowly.
9 GOLDEN TREASURE (CJ087) W Pike -- Prominent from outset, sat behind pace 1 out 1 back, good run to bend, improved 3 wide entering straight, no match for first two but battled gamely all the same.
12 ABLE DRAGON (CJ308) M L Yeung B Even jump, raced 3 to 4Ls back on rails, used nothing in middle stages, saved ground on bend, stayed on nicely to make frame.
13 AMAZING CHOICE (CG163) J Lloyd B Unbalanced early, ended up 3 wide behind midfield, 7Ls or so away but did have cover in mid-section, improved turning, closed off well to be nearest on line.
5 AMPLE GAINS (CE021) O Doleuze B/TT Standard jump, got well back 7 to 8Ls away on fence, had soft run to bend, saved ground turning, made some late headway.
10 WARM EMBRACES (CJ162) M W Leung -- Behind midfield throughout, best part of 7 to 8Ls down on circle, had a bit to do on straightening, made some minor progress without threatening.
7 GRAND PROFIT (CK412) Y T Cheng XB/TT Worked hard to lead, settled affairs but still set even sections, did too much to turn, weakened in straight.
1 WIN PRACTITIONER (CG180) C K Tong -- No early speed, soon at rear 9 to 10Ls back, moved 3 wide at circle, swept 5 wide on turning, peaked on run by 200 M.
4 WHATABOB (CD213) W C Marwing SR/TT Began well, had a nice run 4Ls back in running line, no excuses to bend, found little under pressure, average effort.
6 LOCAL POWER (CH296) W M Lai -- Lacked usual speed, assumed a midfield trail 5Ls from speed, reasonable run to turn, niggled soon after turning, poor in finish.
14 TELECOM SUPER STAR (CK386) K L Chui B Fairly away, midfield or worse 6Ls from lead, used little and saved ground on rails throughout, no response.
2 CONFUCIUS CLASSIC (CJ141) J Victoire TT1 Tardy into stride, got well back 8Ls away on rails, set a big task still last to bend, didn't see out trip.
11 FORTUNE HAVEN (CK146) D Beadman SR Ridden prominently, worked early to end up outside leader, 1L down on bend, came under pressure on turning, didn't close off. (See Racing Incidents.)
