3 13 GREEN ENVY (C313) J Moreira V/TT Caught wide early before drifting back & ultimately settling forth last. Shifted to be the widest runner on cornering when over 5L behind before closing strongly down the outside to get with half-length on line. Big run.
4 12 THUNDER STOMP (V279) H T Mo B Began fast & continued to improve from wide gate before racing outside the leader from the 1100m. Moved up to assume narrow lead entering last section, joined by the winner at the 250m but fought bravely to be close behind.
5 9 COUNTRY BOY (D348) K Teetan H/P/TT Held lead momentarily after the start before being headed & racing on leaders back from the 1000m. Continued behind leading pair on straightening before finishing off well along the inside rail to be under 2L behind on line.
6 1 JOYFUL HEART (C227) C Soumillon CP/TT Bumped heavily at start & lost ground before shifting down to rail. Improved along rail after first furlong to race in midfield thereafter. Moved away from rail passing the 600m before finishing off steadily to midfield.
7 2 GOLDEN FOUR (B225) C L Chau B2 Steadied from wide gate & shifted back to the tail. Continued near the tail on cornering, over 6.5L behind before closing off well in late stages to not be beaten far from rearward position.
8 5 LIGHT OF WANSHI (E009) V Borges TT Bumped heavily after start before steadying & shifting behind runners to race third last. Continued rearward on corner, 6L behind, began to make steady ground before being tightened & steadied near 125m. Should have been closer.
9 4 SUPERB DADDY (D235) N Callan B- Drifted back after the start & raced in midfield between runners for the majority. Ridden along passing the 600m, shifted out & bumped on straightening, moved closer to lead at 200m before weakening in late stages. No threat.
10 14 UNIVERSAL RECORD (D137) C Wong -- Showed speed after start to race just behind lead before steadying & settling behind leading quartet. Eased into clear running on straightening before emptying out at the 250m & weakening last furlong.
11 8 WINNING STEED (D155) Z Purton CP Steadied & shifted across to midfield but was caught wide & without cover for the majority. Continued wide, over 6L behind at the 800m. Forced wider around bend, unbalanced on straightening before weakening. (See report).
12 10 VECTOR (E027) C Y Ho H/CP1/TT Crowded at the start before mustering speed quickly to improve to the lead passing the 1200m. Joined in the lead entering the last section before weakening out meekly in final 300m. Well beaten.
13 6 MULTIPLE STAR (D305) H N Wong -- Had soft run in midfield on the rail throughout. Continued along the rail entering last section when 4.5LK behind before peaking at the 300m & weakening poorly in last 250m. Well beaten.
14 7 QUICK REPLY (E067) B Shinn -- Steadied after the start & shifted back to second last. Relegated back to last, 7.5KL behind on cornering before weakening out further in straight to be long last.
