2 4 SOLID SHALAA (H228) K Teetan B/TT Steadied after the start & taken back to race just worse than midfield. Improved to race three wide with cover passing 700m, shifted out to be the widest runner at 400m before making late ground to close to second final 50m.
3 6 PACKING PROSPECT (H424) J McDonald TT Had a nice run on the leaders back in the middle stages. Was slightly hampered when going for a run between runners at 150m before finishing off well to not be beaten far into third.
4 3 LIFELINE EXPRESS (H439) A Badel -- Improved after the start but was caught racing three wide outside the leaders in middle stages. Continued close to the lead all of the way before being over-run for a minor place late, ran well considering wide passage.
5 12 CRAZY TREASURE (J063) B Thompson B1 Steadied & got back to race worse than midfield away from the rail. Continued rearward on straightening, was 5L from the lead entering last section before making some late headway down the outside to not be beaten far.
6 8 SOARING BRONCO (J162) Y L Chung -- Was hampered by rival runner on jumping before racing three wide with cover in midfield throughout. Was just under 3L from the lead on straightening, battled on late to hold midfield finish without threatening.
7 13 WINNING HEART (H065) Z Purton B/TT Ridden hard at start to improve to lead. Was joined & headed by the winner near the 300m mark, gave a few lengths in concluding stages to be beaten just under 4L into midfield.
8 11 HIGH RISE POWER (H353) K De Melo B- Veered inwards at the start before improving to be prominent and then getting position 1,1 in middle stages. Shifted outwards into clear running on straightening when only 2L from lead but weakened a few lengths late.
9 9 YEE CHEONG RAIDER (J176) A Hamelin B1/TT1 Began only fairly before improving between runners after the start to race in midfield. Continued between rivals on straightening when just under 4L from lead but failed to improve, weakening a few lengths in final section.
10 1 MASTER STROKE (J036) L Ferraris -- Began awkwardly & was then hampered & lost ground before racing worse than midfield along the rail. Had clear running on straightening when just under 5L from lead, weakened a further few lengths, never a factor.
11 5 FAIRY HORSE (J144) L Hewitson H1/TT1 Allowed to get back from the outside draw to race towards to rear with only the poor beginner behind early. Was third last and 7L from the lead entering last section, made no headway & was never a factor.
12 14 E TALENT (H310) H T Mo B2 Had no speed after the start & got back to race second last along the rail with only the poor beginner behind. Continued second last on straightening when over 7L from the lead, did nothing in last section & was well beaten.
13 7 SAVVY ELEGANCE (J068) M Chadwick B/H/TT Began fairly, improve along the rail to race in midfield. Was a touch keen near approaching and passing the 800m mark, was under 4L from the lead on straightening, weakened poorly to be long second last.
14 2 SPEED SWORD (H397) H Bowman TT Began extremely slowly and lost considerable ground at the start. Tacked onto the back of the field before half-way, was 8L behind on straightening but weakened to be long last but had excuse after blowing the start badly.
