2 1 MARADO (E245) C L Chau B- Raced in midfield between runners. Was ridden along before straightening, entered last section just under 5L from lead, closed well to second passing the 150m mark, finished clear of third.
3 10 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) Z Purton -- Steadied & taken back to race near the tail along the inside. Moved away from the rail near the 500m, wider again on cornering, was over 6L from the entering last section before making good late ground down the outside late.
4 11 STARSHIP EIGHTY (H022) K Teetan PC/TT Got back to race at the tail between runners. Shifted wider on straightened when second last and 7.5L from lead, made good late headway down the outside in final stages to finish fourth.
5 13 ROYAL PRIDE (E351) B Thompson H-/TT Had a soft run in midfield along the rail. Followed the leader on straightening when only 2L from the lead, shifted outwards approaching the 250m before weakening a length to be well held in midfield.
6 7 CELTIC TIMES (G230) M Chadwick B/TT Had a nice run in midfield away from the rail. Eased wider just before straightening, was only 3.5L from lead entering last section, weakened in last furlong and was beaten 4L into midfield.
7 2 MISTER DAPPER (H376) H Bentley H/SR/XB Was caught racing three wide without cover in midfield throughout. Was wider on straightening, was 4.5L from the lead entering last section and held that deficit all the way to the line.
8 3 ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342) L Hewitson B/XB/TT Had a soft run-in midfield along the rail. Was just over 4L from the lead on straightening, weakened a length in the straight when finishing off nearer the rail. Never a factor.
9 5 VOLCANIC SPARK (H388) H Bowman B Raced just worse than midfield when three wide with cover. Was just over 5L from the lead on straightening, raced tight approaching 250m before being crowded and steadied near 150m, should have been closer.
10 8 CHATEAU LE PECHE (H471) M F Poon B Was crowded soon after the start before racing worse than midfield along the rail. Was 5.5L from the lead on straightening, made no headway in final section & was well held.
11 4 BEER PALACE (H361) L Ferraris B Pushed forward to lead. Was 1.5L clear of nearest rival entering last section, joined by winner at the 225m, weakened quickly in the concluding stages.
12 6 C P ONE (J013) A Hamelin TT Got back to race three wide near the tail. Continued back and wide around bend, was the widest on straightening when 9L from the lead before failing to make any headway.
13 9 LOOKING COOL (G151) A Badel CP Drifted back after start, raced just worse than midfield between runners. Was keen in the middle stages when getting head up. Relegated to third last approaching bend, pushed wide from 500m, weakened poorly, long second last.
14 14 ROBOT FIGHTER (H309) K De Melo -- Ridden forward at start, contested lead early before racing outside the leader from 1200m. Raced in third place off the rail from the 900m. Was hard ridden from 550m, hung outwards on cornering before weakening badly to last.
