Background:
Noriyuki Hori obtained his training licence in 2002. He won his first trainers’ championship in 2015 and has over 20 top-level wins. He enjoyed his most successful year in training in 2015 when Duramente won the Satsuki Sho and Tokyo Yushun, while his champion Maurice excelled in the Yasuda Kinen, Mile Championship and Hong Kong Mile. Maurice added the 2016 Champions Mile at Sha Tin before adding the 2016 Hong Kong Cup. Hori also won the 2016 Hong Kong Vase with Satono Crown and he became the first overseas trainer to win two Hong Kong International Races features on the same day. He also trained Neorealism to win the QEII Cup in 2017. His 2023 highlight was another Tokyo Yushun win with Tastiera. His major wins in 2024 include the G2 American Jockey Club Cup with Chuck Nate, and G2 Nikkei Sho and G2 Meguro Kinen with Struve. Satono Reve is his most recent Group 1 winner after landing the 2025 Takamatsunomiya Kinen.
