Racing Incident Report

NEVER SAY NEVER was withdrawn on raceday morning on veterinary grounds (swollen near fore leg). Before racing again, NEVER SAY NEVER will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. MENDOZA jumped awkwardly. Just after the start, SPRING FOUNTAIN was checked when crowded between TRICCOLO which shifted in abruptly and SPLENDID PATROL which shifted out. SURPLUS left the gates awkwardly with its head up, shifted in and made contact with TRICCOLO which shifted out after bumping with SPRING FOUNTAIN. After the incidents at the start, TRICCOLO was obliged to race wide without any cover and proved very difficult to settle. Near the 1000 Metres, SPRING FOUNTAIN, which was over racing and could not be settled, improved its position to be inside MENDOZA. As a consequence of this, BILLION DELIGHT was crowded onto the hindquarters of CELLINI and checked rather severely. In view of the circumstances, no action was taken. About the 500 Metres, MENDOZA was unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DEPECHE MODE and tight inside TRICCOLO. About the 300 Metres, BILLION DELIGHT was steadied and shifted in abruptly to find running and go forward. Almost on the line, TRICCOLO was steadied when close to the heels of COLOURFUL ERA. SPRING FOUNTAIN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
