Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, DASH AHEAD became fractious, reared on a number of occasions, then when the gates opened was slow to begin. The horse then trailed the field throughout and finished tailed out. Before being permitted to race again, DASH AHEAD will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PARADIS bounded in the air at the start and on landing dipped. CIRCUIT KINGDOM began awkwardly. In the early stages, CARRY THE NEWS got its head up when over-racing and because of this was allowed to stride forward. Near the 1000 Metres, AMO was checked when crowded for room between CIRCUIT KINGDOM and EASY GAME (D Boeuf) which after beginning fairly was hard ridden to improve its position and at this time got its head on the side and shifted in away from OPERA MAGIC. The Stewards were satisfied that D Boeuf had attempted to prevent his mount from shifting in at this time, therefore no action was taken. Near the 900 Metres, CIRCUIT KINGDOM and EASY GAME bumped. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, EASY GAME shifted out after bumping with CIRCUIT KINGDOM and was steadied away from the heels of OPERA MAGIC (W Smith) which at this time was shifting in when not properly clear. In the circumstances, W Smith was reprimanded and told to exercise more care. At the 700 Metres, AMO got its head on the side, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of EASY GAME. After the 600 Metres, AMO was again steadied when crowded for room between NOBLE CHAMPION which shifted out slightly and EASY GAME which got its head on the side and shifted in away from FLASH HARRY. Near the 300 Metres, ENTERTAINING was brushed and carried in by CARRY THE NEWS. As a result of ENTERTAINING being carried back to the rail, NOBLE CHAMPION was disappointed for running inside that horse, was then steadied and shifted to the outside of CARRY THE NEWS to obtain clear running. Approaching the 200 Metres, CIRCUIT KINGDOM was unable to obtain clear running between OPERA MAGIC and FLASH HARRY. CIRCUIT KINGDOM was then steadied and shifted to the outside of FLASH HARRY and near the 100 Metres again had difficulty obtaining clear running between that horse and AMO. NOBLE CHAMPION and LUCKY STALLION were sent for sampling.
