Racing Incident Report

KING ERIE was withdrawn on 10.2.04 on veterinary grounds (skin disease). Before being allowed to race again, KING ERIE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. NATURAL MODEL began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. FLYING DRAGON was slow to begin. On jumping, HIGHLAND DAWN was bumped by VIPER CORP which shifted in after being bumped by COUNTRY DRAGON. From the outside gate, CHARIOT OF WEI HAI, which was to be ridden patiently due to the anticipated pace of the race, was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position on the rail but at the rear. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, FLYING DRAGON was checked when crowded for room inside VIPER CORP which was carried in slightly by MAGIC TOUCH (Apprentice M W Leung) which shifted in abruptly when not quite clear. In the circumstances, Apprentice Leung was reprimanded and told in future he should not shift in at the abrupt angle he did on this occasion. After the 600 Metres, BROSE'S HONOR got its head on the side, shifted in away from NORTHERN FLYER and bumped the running rail. Some inconvenience was caused to NATURAL MODEL which was racing behind BROSE'S HONOR. Near the 100 Metres, NATURAL MODEL was crowded for room between BROSE'S HONOR and NORTHERN FLYER, both of which shifted ground. BROSE'S HONOR was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of BROSE'S HONOR after the race did not show any significant findings. FRUITY FRUITY and BUDDIES POWER were sent for sampling.
