Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, it was noted TROPHY had blood present at its mouth. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said the blood originated from a loosened tooth and in his opinion was suitable to race. FAT CHOY FOREVER and HANDBAG FORTUNE were slow to begin. COOL SWING began awkwardly, got its head up and bounded in the air. BODACIOUS began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, FAT CHOY FOREVER became unbalanced and was steadied away from the heels of SUPERSONIC. Near the 400 Metres, HANDBAG FORTUNE was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FASHION JEWELLERY. Near the 200 Metres, BODACIOUS was checked when crowded for room between FAT CHOY FOREVER which shifted in slightly and GRAND COMMANDS which shifted out away from COOL SWING. No action was taken. T Mundry (GLOBE RIVER) explained the intention had been to ride the horse quietly and save it for a final sprint in the hope it would be able to close off. He said GLOBE RIVER began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped HAPPY HEROES, then shortly afterwards was bumped by that horse when it shifted back in. He said after this he steadied GLOBE RIVER to ensure it was properly balanced. He said after the 400 Metres he shifted GLOBE RIVER to the outside of FAT CHOY FOREVER, commenced to ride along and it responded. He said however in his opinion the run of the horse finished short of the line. COOL SWING was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of COOL SWING after the race did not show any significant findings. FASHION JEWELLERY and GRAND MASTER were sent for sampling.
