Racing Incident Report
OKEYDOKEY was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was crowded for room between SHATIN WIN WIN and NEW MILESTONE which got its head on the side and shifted in. In this incident, SHATIN WIN WIN also lost ground. GLORY YEARS began awkwardly. After the 800 Metres, PROFIT HILL and MASTER YING raced tight inside GLORY YEARS which at this time was carried in by DRAGON HORSE which itself was carried in slightly by EVER MORE. No action was taken. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, EVER MORE and GOLDEN FARM were carried wider by KEEN FLYER which got its head on the side and hung out. KEEN FLYER continued to hang out in the middle stages and shifted away from the rail. On straightening, SHATIN WIN WIN was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of PROFIT HILL. In the Straight, GLORY YEARS hung in, proved difficult to ride and after the 200 Metres caused some inconvenience to PROFIT HILL. Also in the Straight, KEEN FLYER lay in. At the winning post, KEEN FLYER and DIAMOND CENTURY came together as a result of both horses shifting ground. When questioned, R Fradd (DRAGON HORSE) said KEEN FLYER and GOLDEN FARM which had drawn to his inside began quicker than his mount and showed superior speed, he therefore allowed DRAGON HORSE to become balanced and gradually shift across in the hope of obtaining a position with cover. He said however as he did this GLORY YEARS improved on his inside and the rider of that horse immediately started calling to him, he therefore stopped shifting across as he believed he might have caused inconvenience to runners on his inside. He said after the 800 Metres EVER MORE crossed from his outside when barely clear of him, resulting in him having to steady his mount for a short distance. He said after this DRAGON HORSE raced wide and without cover. He said in his opinion he would have been required to make too much use of DRAGON HORSE in the early stages to race in a more forward position and if he had done so he still would have raced wide and without cover. The explanation of R Fradd was reported. PROFIT HILL was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PROFIT HILL after the race did not show any significant findings. DIAMOND CENTURY and KEEN FLYER were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted AMO had lost its right front plate.
