Racing Incident Report

On jumping, WILLIE DETROY blundered badly and almost fell. GOOD NATURE was restrained out of the barrier and got its head up. GOOD BA BA began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped BRILLIANT ONE. GREAT ACHIEVEMENT and LOTZATOW bumped at the start. At the 1500 Metres, GOOD NATURE, which was proving difficult to settle, became unbalanced when awkwardly placed inside the hindquarters of SILVER SUN. Over the final 1400 Metres, WILLIE DETROY travelled wide and without cover. After the 1400 Metres, SUNNY SING was steadied when awkwardly placed inside HELLO PRETTY which shifted in slightly. Approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, GOOD NATURE, which was continuing to prove difficult to settle, got its head up when racing close to the heels of VIVA PATACA. Prior to straightening, GOOD NATURE shifted out and bumped SILVER SUN. B Prebble (HAPPEE OWNER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that shortly after the 400 Metres he shifted his mount in when not clear of GREAT ACHIEVEMENT, causing that horse to lose its rightful running and be checked. B Prebble was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday 13 April 2006 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Saturday 1 April 2006. In addition, B Prebble was fined $80,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating two further racedays. Shortly after this incident, VIVA PATACA, which was endeavouring to shift to the outside of VERY FIT to obtain clear running, was bumped by HAPPEE OWNER which shifted further. As a result of this, VIVA PATACA shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of VERY FIT, causing that horse to become unbalanced. Approaching the 300 Metres, SUNNY SING was held up when racing behind HELLO PRETTY and inside BRILLIANT ONE which was giving ground. To obtain clear running near the 200 Metres, SUNNY SING was shifted to the outside of HELLO PRETTY. At the 300 Metres, GOOD BA BA, which was giving ground, was bumped by SILVER SUN which shifted out. Throughout the race, VERY FIT travelled wide and without cover. WILLIE DETROY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WILLIE DETROY after the race did not show any significant findings. VIVA PATACA and HAIL THE STORM were sent for sampling.
