Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, HAR HAR CHARMS bounded in the air and lost ground. OKEYDOKEY was slow to begin. On jumping, BULB KING and REUNION bumped. After the 800 Metres, SPEED FIGHTER was momentarily steadied away from the heels of VICTORY WARRIOR which shifted in when barely clear. Prior to straightening, HAR HAR CHARMS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of BULB KING. From the 250 Metres, AMO was shifted out to obtain clear running. Over the concluding stages, HAR HAR CHARMS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of REUNION and because of this was not ridden out to the end of the race. For the major part of the race, ALWAYS WELCOME travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight hung in. Y T Cheng (BRAVE KNIGHT) explained in the Straight his mount was able to make ground after having conserved energy early in the race. He said he did use the whip on two occasions on BRAVE KNIGHT and the horse continued to make ground, however, did not quicken noticeably, therefore he continued to ride his mount out hands and heels in the run to the line. Y T Cheng was told to ensure he rides his mounts out in a manner which is not open to question. LUCKY FRUIT was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. OKEYDOKEY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY FRUIT and OKEYDOKEY after the race did not show any significant findings. KIMBERLEY MINES and SPEED FIGHTER were sent for sampling.
