Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, CAPITALAND bounded in the air and began awkwardly. KA KA WIN was slow to begin. TOP SCORER began awkwardly and shifted out. On jumping, MAVERICK STAR and FAIR WIN bumped. From a wide barrier, GALLANT FALCON was taken across behind runners. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, MAVERICK STAR was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SHINY RIBBON. At the 1200 Metres, GALLANT FALCON was steadied away from the heels of FAIR WIN which was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of ARMONDO which in turn got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of AMBITIOUS TYCOON (W M Lai) which after crossing to lead steadied the tempo. W M Lai was told to ensure he does not steady the tempo of races too quickly when racing in the lead. For some distance after the 1200 Metres, ARMONDO and FAIR WIN continued to race awkwardly due to the pace of the race. In the middle stages, MAVERICK STAR proved difficult to settle due to the pace. Also in the middle stages, CAPITALAND proved difficult to settle due to the pace, shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of FIGHTING MASCOT, was left racing without cover and pulled its way forward along the Back Straight. When CAPITALAND shifted out near the 1000 Metres, KA KA WIN was hampered and carried wider. Making the Home Turn, FAIR WIN was awkwardly placed behind ARMONDO and tight inside SHINY RIBBON. At the 250 Metres, O Doleuze (GALLANT FALCON) dropped his whip. Near the 200 Metres, ARMONDO, which was improving its position, made contact with AMBITIOUS TYCOON which shifted out when giving ground. Close to the line, SHINY RIBBON was awkwardly placed between ARMONDO and TOP SCORER. The performance of RIGHT CHOICE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, RIGHT CHOICE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CAPITALAND was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CAPITALAND after the race did not show any significant findings. TOP SCORER, GALLANT FALCON and FIGHTING MASCOT were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 16 March 2006)
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that AMBITIOUS TYCOON was this morning found to have a right front tendon injury. Before being allowed to race again, AMBITIOUS TYCOON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
