Racing Incident Report
SHATIN WIN WIN began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost a considerable amount of ground. CONQUEROR was slow to begin. From the outside barrier, DRAGON INN was steadied on jumping, then shortly afterwards was again steadied away from the heels of LA TACHE which at this time shifted out away from the heels of BULLDOZER which shifted ground. After this, DRAGON INN was taken across behind runners. GOLDEN STRIDE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR which in turn shifted ground and bumped the hindquarters of EVER MORE. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, GOLDEN STRIDE was steadied when awkwardly placed inside UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR. Shortly after straightening, GOLDEN STRIDE was steadied and shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LA TACHE. In the early part of the Straight, CONQUEROR was carried wider by SOUTH CHINA NINETY which was shifting towards the outside of THUNDER STORM to obtain clear running. For the major part of the race, SHATIN WIN WIN hung out. Throughout the race, MASONIC TREASURE travelled wide and without cover, in the Straight gave ground and after the 300 Metres was steadied away from the heels of LA TACHE which at this time shifted out. GOLDEN STRIDE and LA TACHE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, GOLDEN STRIDE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed the horse to have an epiglottic entrapment. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN STRIDE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of LA TACHE after the race did not show any significant findings. BULLDOZER and EVER MORE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 23 March 2006)
LA TACHE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. LA TACHE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D E Ferraris this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a stiff and restricted forelimb action. Before being allowed to race again, LA TACHE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
