Racing Incident Report
HIGHLAND DAWN was withdrawn on 21.3.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter DR POSSI (O Doleuze). Before being allowed to race again, HIGHLAND DAWN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SAND DANCE and SUPER FIGHTER were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, SPACE SHUTTLE, which had been a little slow to begin, was checked when crowded for room between BEAUTY PLUS and THE WORLD OF LOVE which on jumping shifted in. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, SUPER FIGHTER was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of TIGER RIDGE. THE WORLD OF LOVE, which had been taken back from its wide barrier, hung in making the turn at the 1000 Metres, causing some inconvenience to BEAUTY PLUS. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, RED STORM RISING was crowded for room inside TIGER RIDGE which got its head on the side and shifted in away from SAND DANCE. After the 600 Metres, DR POSSI bumped the running rail and became unbalanced. Making the Home Turn, SUPER FIGHTER became unbalanced after being bumped by DR POSSI. At the 200 Metres, DR POSSI was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of TIGER RIDGE. DR POSSI was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DR POSSI after the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY WINNER and LUCKY UNICORN were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported SAND DANCE had lost its right front plate.
