Racing Incident Report

Prior to the declaration of weighed-in, the Stewards considered whether LUCKY PARADISE had had an unfair start. Evidence was taken from the Deputy Starter, Mr T McGovern, who started this race, O Doleuze, the rider of LUCKY PARADISE, and Mr J Moore, the trainer of LUCKY PARADISE. The official videos of the start were viewed. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards believed that momentarily prior to the gates opening LUCKY PARADISE commenced to rear and at the time the gates commenced to open, the horse was continuing to rear, however, was wholly in the stall. When LUCKY PARADISE came down after the gates opened, its head was over the inside partition of the adjoining barrier stall. As a result of this, LUCKY PARADISE was not able to leave the stalls and took no part. As the Stewards were satisfied LUCKY PARADISE had created its own set of circumstances arising to it taking no part in this race, they did not believe the horse had had an unfair start and therefore weighed-in was declared on the Judge's numbers as semaphored. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY PARADISE will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Making the first turn, AMPLE GAINS raced tight inside PACKING ANGEL. Also CZAR OF PRUSSIA was steadied when crowded for room between PACKING ANGEL and THE KING. After the 1400 Metres, THE KING, which had been slow to muster speed, was steadied when awkwardly placed between MASTER GIGOLO and CZAR OF PRUSSIA. Making the turn at the 1200 Metres, GLOBAL WIN raced ungenerously, got its head on the side and shifted out, causing some inconvenience to FASHION JEWELLERY. After this, GLOBAL WIN continued to hang out. For some distance approaching the 400 Metres, FIVE GRAINS was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of FASHION JEWELLERY. The performances of JOYFUL SPIRIT, THE KING and LUCKY CHAMPION, which tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, JOYFUL SPIRIT, THE KING and LUCKY CHAMPION will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. AMPLE GAINS, FLORAL PEGASUS and STABLE MAIL were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported FASHION JEWELLERY had bled from both nostrils.
