Racing Incident Report

SUPER GOAL MASTER, which was fractious in its stall, was slow to begin. PURE ALPHA and SAFETY FIRST were slow to begin. Near the 800 Metres, NORTHERN HERO, which was racing tight inside LASER TIGER, was bumped by that horse which shifted in after being bumped by WITHALLMYHEART. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, SUPER GOAL MASTER had difficulty obtaining clear running. For some distance after the 200 Metres, GLOBAL LEADER was steadied when crowded for room between WITHALLMYHEART and ISLAND SPEED (A Delpech) which shifted in while hanging. A Delpech was severely reprimanded and told while the Stewards accepted ISLAND SPEED at this time was hanging, he would in future be expected to make a greater effort to prevent his mounts from shifting ground. At the 50 Metres, SUPER GOAL MASTER was steadied away from the heels of JOY AND FUN which was carried out slightly by CONGRATULATION. For the major part of the race, LUCKY MAN travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. The performance of LUCKY MAN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY MAN will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ISLAND SPEED was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. LUCKY MAN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ISLAND SPEED and LUCKY MAN after the race did not show any significant findings. NORTHERN HERO and CONGRATULATION were sent for sampling.
