Racing Incident Report

BYRON was withdrawn on 24.3.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GOODY (A Delpech). Before being allowed to race again, BYRON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TRIUMPHANT UNICORN began awkwardly and lost ground. REGENCY DRAGON was slow to begin and then stumbled. From a wide barrier, GOODY was taken across behind runners. In the early stages, SUNNY POWER proved difficult to settle and at the 800 Metres was left racing without cover. After the 900 Metres, SUNNY KING was steadied away from the heels of DIAMOND BRILLIANCE. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, FELLOWSHIP became unbalanced when racing tight inside DIAMOND BRILLIANCE which in turn was racing tight inside TIBER. In the Straight, SKYVIEW BAR hung out. W M Lai (EGYPTIAN RA) explained given the history of EGYPTIAN RA being a headstrong horse, whilst he was aware the tempo of the middle stages of the race was fast, he felt it would be against the best interest of EGYPTIAN RA to endeavour to steady it unnecessarily. GOODY and KINDACROSS were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GOODY and KINDACROSS after the race did not show any significant findings. FELLOWSHIP and SKYVIEW BAR were sent for sampling.
