Racing Incident Report

FELLOWSHIP was withdrawn on 28.4.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind). Before being allowed to race again, FELLOWSHIP will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CARRIZO CREEK began awkwardly. With the intention of being ridden in a rearward position from a wide barrier, BEING FAMOUS when being taken back in the early stages was crowded for room between NOBLE HEART and BULLISH CASH which shifted out. From a wide barrier, BULLISH CASH was taken back to a position with cover. In the early and middle stages, EGYPTIAN RA proved difficult to settle. After passing the 1400 Metres, PRETTY TRIO proved difficult to settle. After the 1000 Metres, RIVER JORDAN was left racing without cover. Apprentice C W Wong (LUCKY CHAMPION) explained he had been instructed if the horse began well to endeavour to maintain a position in front of midfield. He said LUCKY CHAMPION began nicely and then was able to obtain a position as instructed without being made use of. TOM'S SIX was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, TOM'S SIX was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. RIVER JORDAN, EGYPTIAN RA and MAVERICK STAR were sent for sampling.
