Racing Incident Report
On jumping, TOP SPEED was checked, GOLD GEM and SEAKING TREASURE were crowded for room between TREASURE PLANET which shifted in and NAMJONG SKY which began awkwardly and shifted out. BEST FRIEND was slow to begin, then tailed out. The performance of BEST FRIEND was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BEST FRIEND will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CARELESS WHISPER began awkwardly and got its head up. Near the 400 Metres, HOLI RAVIOLI was steadied when awkwardly placed outside the heels of TREASURE PLANET which at this time shifted out. CARELESS WHISPER, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of HOLI RAVIOLI. Passing the 200 Metres, HOLI RAVIOLI, which was commencing to close the race off, was checked when awkwardly placed close to the heels of POWER DRAGON which at this time shifted in. No action was taken. At the 100 Metres, CALL ME CULLEN, which was making ground, was steadied and shifted to the inside of TREASURE PLANET to continue going forward. M Nunes (KEEN FLYER) said shortly after the start his mount felt awkward in its action. He said after this at no stage did KEEN FLYER travel as he thought it should and over the concluding stages gave ground noticeably. KEEN FLYER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, KEEN FLYER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, KEEN FLYER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HOLI RAVIOLI, COSMO SUCCESSOR and CLEAR WIN were sent for sampling. Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported TREASURE PLANET had lost its right front plate.
