Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, GLOBAL WIN became fractious, reared and momentarily had its right hind leg caught on the platform inside the stall. GLOBAL WIN was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE and HAR HAR CHARMS began awkwardly. Approaching the turn at the 700 Metres, WELL NOTED was steadied away from the heels of JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE. Near the 600 Metres, WELL NOTED was steadied away from the heels of SUNNY GOLF which shifted in. Making the Home Turn, GLOBAL WIN hung out. C K Tong (SHANGDONG GENERAL), which performed poorly, said despite being ridden along in the early stages his mount failed to muster speed and as a consequence was crossed by a number of runners. He said SHANGDONG GENERAL did not appreciate racing behind horses. D Beadman (SPRING SUN), which performed poorly, explained in his opinion the horse which was racing on the All Weather Track for the first occasion today did not appear to handle today’s wet track conditions. He added SPRING SUN raced “flat”. B Prebble (JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE) explained whilst the horse has previously won on the All Weather surface, it did not appear to appreciate today’s wet track conditions which caused the surface to be firm due to the track being sealed. He said because of this near the 1200 Metres JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE commenced to shorten stride and was disappointing in the manner in which it closed its race off. GLOBAL WIN was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. SHANGDONG GENERAL, SPRING SUN, JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE and GOOD DISHES were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GLOBAL WIN, SHANGDONG GENERAL, SPRING SUN, JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE and GOOD DISHES after the race did not show any significant findings. SOLAR MIGHTY and SUNNY GOLF were sent for sampling.
