Racing Incident Report

When parading, KING FAY FAY reared up and made contact with a rail, resulting in the horse suffering a laceration to the right rump. KING FAY FAY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of KING FAY FAY. Before being allowed to race again, KING FAY FAY will be required to undertake schooling in the Parade Ring to the satisfaction of the Stewards and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. As the start was effected, CARE FREE MIDAS, which was leaning on the inside of its barrier, lifted both its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin. From a barrier towards the outside, LINKED WIN was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. DR UNION was crowded for room at the start between JEN TRUMPS and SPICY SHRIMP which shifted in. Entering the Back Straight, LOTS OF FUN, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up and shifted in abruptly and in doing so made contact with FAVOURITE SUPREME which was crowded for room. CARE FREE MIDAS, which was following LOTS OF FUN, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse and after this travelled wide and without cover. After this, LOTS OF FUN continued to prove difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LINKED WIN. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, SPICY SHRIMP got its head on the side and hung out. SPICY SHRIMP continued to hang out until after entering the Straight. Before being allowed to race again, SPICY SHRIMP will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. Approaching the 400 Metres, FORTUNE SPIRIT became unbalanced when reluctant to maintain its position inside DR WIN. Then after the 400 Metres, FORTUNE SPIRIT was shifted out across the heels of DR WIN (D Whyte) which shifted in when not quite clear. D Whyte was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. Shortly after entering the Straight, LINKED WIN was steadied away from the heels of SONOFTHEWEST. DR WIN, CAGA SPIRIT and FORTUNE SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
