Racing Incident Report

BE THERE AHEAD was slow to begin.
From wide barriers, DYNAMIC VOYAGE and G-ONE LEADER were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Near the 1100 Metres, MY LEGEND, which was being steadied to obtain cover, was checked away from the heels of SILLY BUDDIES. For some distance after this, MY LEGEND continued to prove difficult to settle and raced ungenerously.
After the 1100 Metres, INTELLECTUAL GLIDE and DINING STAR raced tight inside SILLY BUDDIES which, after initially shifting in, was then awkwardly placed inside the heels of THE PRINCE.
For some distance after the 1100 Metres, DYNAMIC VOYAGE proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when over-racing.
Making the turn near the 900 Metres, MY LEGEND got its head on the side and lay out.
After the 700 Metres, DYNAMIC VOYAGE again got its head up when being checked away from the heels of BEAUTY JOURNEY.
Also after the 700 Metres, PACKING MOTOR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPREME ESSENCE.
Passing the 150 Metres, MY LEGEND was steadied away from the heels of BEAUTY JOURNEY which shifted in.
After the 100 Metres, BE THERE AHEAD was steadied when disappointed for running between PACKING MOTOR and SUPREME ESSENCE, both of which shifted ground. Then over the concluding stages, BE THERE AHEAD was steadied away from the heels of PACKING MOTOR. Because of this, BE THERE AHEAD was not able to be properly tested.
Near the 50 Metres, G-ONE LEADER shifted out abruptly.
In the Straight, SILLY BUDDIES lay in under pressure.
Apprentice C Y Lui (BEAUTY JOURNEY), in the presence of his allocated trainer, Mr P F Yiu, and a representative of the Club’s Racing Development Board, were shown the video of Apprentice Lui’s riding after the 100 Metres in which he appeared to become very unbalanced after dropping his right rein. Apprentice Lui was advised that he must, in consultation with Mr Yiu and the Racing Development Board, address aspects of his riding so as to ensure his safety and that of his fellow riders and also the opportunities of the horses that he rides.
A veterinary inspection of MY LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SILLY BUDDIES, G-ONE LEADER and YOU READ MY MIND were sent for sampling.
<10/2/2014 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Officer reported that DYNAMIC VOYAGE was found to be lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, DYNAMIC VOYAGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
