Racing Incident Report
SICHUAN EXEC began awkwardly and shifted out at the start, resulting in PACKING LLAREGYB being crowded for room inside GOOD GOOD VIEW.
GREAT SKY began awkwardly and shortly after the start was taken across behind runners.
When being taken across behind runners in the early stages, LUCKY BONUS got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle.
Passing the 1100 Metres, I’M IN CHARGE shifted out away from the heels of DASHING FORTUNE when proving difficult to settle. After this, I’M IN CHARGE was left racing wide and without cover.
When proving difficult to settle, LUCKY BONUS shifted out away from the heels of I’M IN CHARGE near the 1000 Metres. LUCKY BONUS then continued to travel keenly and was left racing wide and without cover for the remainder of the race.
GOOD GOOD VIEW was held up for clear running until near the 200 Metres.
When questioned, J Moreira stated that he was asked from the inside barrier to position SICHUAN EXEC in a position forward of midfield. He said after beginning well, in the early stages REAL SUPREME to his outside was ridden along and he expected REAL SUPREME to take up a position inside the anticipated leader SHINY DAY as REAL SUPREME had led some of its races in the past. He said however that approaching the 1200 Metres it became apparent to him that REAL SUPREME would not lead today’s race, however, at this time REAL SUPREME was racing about a length in advance of SICHUAN EXEC and he felt that to ride his mount along to maintain his position to the inside of REAL SUPREME may have resulted in interference to his mount due to the manner in which horses were shifting in to his outside. He said he therefore elected to allow REAL SUPREME to cross SICHUAN EXEC which resulted in SICHUAN EXEC momentarily racing one position further back in the field than had been anticipated. He added making the first turn SICHUAN EXEC was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of REAL SUPREME when the tempo of the race steadied. He said near the 700 Metres REAL SUPREME shifted out and he was able to immediately improve his position to be racing behind SHINY DAY and rounding the Home Turn he positioned his mount to take advantage of a run between SHINY DAY and DASHING FORTUNE. He said however that before he was able to establish a position between these horses, the run closed due to SHINY DAY shifting out. He said this resulted in SICHUAN EXEC being held up for clear running. He said SICHUAN EXEC was then unable to obtain clear running for the remainder of the race and because of this the horse was not able to be fully tested.
A veterinary inspection of I’M IN CHARGE and SUPREME FALCON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PACKING LLAREGYB and GREAT SKY were sent for sampling.
