Racing Incident Report

DIAMOND ELEGANCE was withdrawn on 20.5.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SUPREME PROFIT (C Y Ho). Before being allowed to race again, DIAMOND ELEGANCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SUPREME PROFIT was slow to begin.
JOLLY SPRING lost its right front plate shortly after the start.
From wide barriers, FLYING RED and JOLLY SPRING were taken across behind runners in the early stages.
An inquiry into the reason for LORD DRAGON falling near the 300 Metres, resulting in M Chadwick being dislodged was adjourned until a date to be fixed as M Chadwick was transported to hospital. JOLLY SPRING and SUPREME PROFIT were badly hampered as a result of LORD DRAGON falling. A veterinary inspection of LORD DRAGON immediately following the race revealed that the horse was bleeding from the right nostril due to head trauma and accordingly LORD DRAGON was not deemed to have bled. LORD DRAGON was also found to have sustained wounds to the right front fetlock. Before being allowed to race again, LORD DRAGON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination..
Near the 150 Metres, FLYING RED momentarily raced in restricted room inside NOBODY BUT YOU which was taken in by JADE PIPPO (D Whyte) which shifted in under pressure. D Whyte then stopped riding and straightened his mount to prevent JADE PIPPO from shifting in further.
A veterinary inspection of DEMON DEMON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
JADE PIPPO, NATURAL TEAM and SPITFIRE were sent for sampling.
<22/5/2014 Additional Veterinary Report>LORD DRAGON, which fell near the 300 Metres, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time the horse was bleeding from the right nostril due to head trauma and accordingly it was not deemed to have bled. LORD DRAGON was again examined by the Clinical Veterinary Surgeon at the stables of Trainer C Fownes this morning. He said at this time he found the horse to be lame in its left front leg and have a swollen head. As previously advised, LORD DRAGON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
