Racing Incident Report
INSPIRING CITY, which bumped its left hind leg on a rail while entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race.
LEAN HERO was steadied on jumping to obtain cover.
JOYFUL CHAMPION began only fairly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages was slow to muster speed.
YOUNG SPARKLE shifted in at the start and brushed INSPIRING CITY which then shifted in and bumped ISLAND GOLDEN.
Both ISLAND GOLDEN and NOBLE ACE lay out rounding the Home Turn.
Approaching the 300 Metres, INSPIRING CITY was directed out away from the heels of ISLAND GOLDEN, which was having its first race start today, when that horse shifted out abruptly when racing greenly.
Passing the 300 Metres, LEAN HERO got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of YOUNG SPARKLE.
JOYFUL CHAMPION had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 250 Metres.
Close to the finishing line, INSPIRING CITY and SUPERB MOVE raced tight.
Throughout the race, NOBLE ACE (Z Purton) travelled wide and without cover. After the race, Z Purton reported that NOBLE ACE’s action deteriorated noticeably over the final 200 Metres, however, the horse was sound in its action when returning to the unsaddling area. A veterinary inspection of NOBLE ACE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, NOBLE ACE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, SUPERB MOVE was noted to have blood in its mouth.
ISLAND GOLDEN and YOUNG SPARKLE were sent for sampling.
