1 2 LUCKY ENCOUNTER (H274) Near the 800 Metres was eased when crossed by GREENWICH (A Badel) which shifted in when not quite clear. A Badel was advised to exercise more care. Was sent for sampling post-race.
2 1 BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334) Passing the 400 Metres was inconvenienced when placed close to ACE ONE which shifted out and away from AMAZING DUCK. Was sent for sampling post-race.
3 14 GREENWICH (H328) No report.
4 8 GOOD BUDDY (E097) No report.
5 10 CALIFORNIA VANES (G160) No report.
6 9 COTTON FINGERS (H398) Hung in in the Home Straight and proved reluctant to shift to the outside, placing its rider, M Chadwick, at some disadvantage when he attempted to ride COTTON FINGERS out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 12 VICTORY SCHOLARS (E091) Near the 350 Metres was shifted to the inside of CALIFORNIA VANES to secure clear running.
8 4 SINBA (H091) No report.
9 11 FOOLISH HEART (J054) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 3 RUN RUN COOL (E322) Jumped only fairly. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running near the 300 Metres.
11 7 SUPER HIGHWAY (G050) Approaching the 800 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded by GOOD BUDDY (L Ferraris) which shifted in. L Ferraris was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when he shifts ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER HIGHWAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
12 13 AMAZING DUCK (H392) Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded by LUCKY ENCOUNTER which shifted in abruptly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Hung out on the Home Turn. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 5 SEIZING THE MOMENT (E444) Near the 250 Metres was crowded between AMAZING DUCK and ACE ONE which shifted in and away from BEAUTY CRESCENT when giving ground.
14 6 ACE ONE (G196) Was bumped at the start. Raced wide and without cover in the middle stages. ACE ONE, which performed unacceptably for the second consecutive occasion, will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a series of consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WV HAPPY DAILY (E294) Was withdrawn on 14.10.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter CALIFORNIA VANES. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY DAILY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WV ENTERPRISE ATTACK (H340) Was withdrawn on 13.10.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart irregularity) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter SUPER HIGHWAY. Before being allowed to race again, ENTERPRISE ATTACK will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
