Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
1 SELF IMPROVEMENT (H337) Sent for sampling post-race.
2 GUMMY GUMMY (H089) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 MASK RIDER (K169) When questioned, K De Melo stated that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position and lead if the pace was not too strong. He said in the early stages when positioned to the inside of SELF IMPROVEMENT, the rider of SELF IMPROVEMENT Apprentice P N Wong showed intent on continuing forward to cross. He said he was of the opinion that had he continued to persist to hold the lead this would result in the pace being too fast and therefore he elected to allow SELF IMPROVEMENT to cross. Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions issued and stated that given the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time he would have preferred for MASK RIDER to hold the lead. After considering Jockey De Melo’s explanation, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by him were reasonable in the circumstances.
6 GALAXY WITNESS (G110) Jumped only fairly.
5 MUST GO (J133) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
7 MOJAVE DESERT (J330) Sent for sampling post-race.
12 MONTA FRUTTA (H455) Jumped only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 SHINYU KOKOROE (K263) Fractious in the barriers, removed and passed suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, SHINYU KOKOROE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Jumped only fairly. After the event, K Teetan reported that his mount lay out in the middle stages rounding the turns.
4 VICTORY MOMENTS (H142) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
9 SPEEDY TRIDENT (K230) No report.
10 SAL (K267) Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
11 CALL TO COMMAND (J243) After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that CALL TO COMMAND was a "roarer”.
