Racing Incident Report

1 8 WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419) After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between CALIFORNIA MOXIE and SOLAR GOGO, both of which shifted ground slightly. Held up for clear running between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 1 SMILING EMPEROR (J371) Had its left front plate refitted in the holding stables, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Over the final 200 Metres shifted out under pressure, resulting in its rider L Hewitson changing his whip through to his left hand near the 100 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 11 VERBIER (J187) Made the Home Turn awkwardly, shifted out and brushed with CALIFORNIA MOXIE. Near the 300 Metres CALIFORNIA MOXIE and VERBIER made contact due to both runners shifting ground, resulting in VERBIER becoming unbalanced. After the event, L Ferraris confirmed that from the outside barrier and with his mount stepping up in distance he was instructed to ride it in a forward position. Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions issued and said VERBIER had performed well in its most recent barrier trials when ridden in the lead.
4 3 TRADITION (J111) Approaching the 1400 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight to the inside of SOLAR GOGO which shifted in and away from HARRY’S HERO. Was left racing wide and without cover from the 700 Metres.
5 4 CALIFORNIA MOXIE (J131) Shifted out shortly after the start and was bumped. Near the 300 Metres shifted in slightly, made contact with VERBIER and became unbalanced. When commencing to give ground near the 50 Metres shifted in slightly and made contact with WINDICATOR FAMILY when that runner shifted out under pressure slightly. After the event, H Bowman reported that his mount was able to obtain a position outside the lead in the early stages but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 2 EN PERFECTO (J409) Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 6 SKYEY BLUE (J212) Crowded shortly after the start.
8 9 HARRY'S HERO (H332) When caught wide in the early stages was shifted across behind runners.
9 7 SOLAR GOGO (H390) Bumped shortly after the start. Raced wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres.
10 5 MILES AWAY (J221) Jumped awkwardly. Approaching the 200 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of SOLAR GOGO to continue into clear running. After the event, B Avdulla stated that his mount did not travel well during the race and did not run on in the Home Straight.
WV-A 10 MR ALADDIN (H386) After being placed in the starting gates reared and got its right front leg over the front gates for some period of time. Acting on veterinary advice that MR ALADDIN was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. The Stewards ruled that MR ALADDIN will be required to attend barrier practice to the satisfaction of the Starter prior to performing satisfactorily in a barrier trial and being subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
WV 12 SUPERB MOVE (G304) Withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left hind cannon injury). Before being allowed to race again, SUPERB MOVE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
