TOP DRAGON (J481) near the 1100M endeavoured to improve into a run where there was insufficient room to do so, resulting in the horse having to be checked when disappointed for that run. Approaching the 400M was steadied when disappointed for clear running. After being shifted in leaving the 400M was then able to be ridden out until near the 250M when it was steadied when disappointed for clear running and as a result was held up between the 250M and the 150M. Over the final 150M could not be fully ridden out when awkwardly placed close to a runner. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 797. |

SHAMUS STORM (K031) jumped only fairly. When questioned rider stated that making the Home Turn his intention was to improve to the inside of a runner to follow another runner into the race. He said when the aforementioned runner commenced to give ground quickly and he was concerned that runner would shift inside one wide, he was then obliged to severely check his mount leaving the 450M to avoid that runner which resulted in his mount losing ground. After considering the evidence the Stewards found that the principal reason for the incident occurring was the manner in which that runner gave ground quickly in that incident - Race 777. |

Following the race was examined by the vet who revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 804. |
