THE WAY WE WIN (J493) jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded. Approaching the 600M was shifted to a position one-off to follow a runner and near the 500M improved to the inside of that runner. A short distance later the horse struck the heels of that runner. After the event rider stated that his mount settled further back in the field after being crowded at the start. He said after his mount lost ground when blundered near the 600M his mount did not finish the race off thereafter. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 095. |

HARRY'S HERO (H332) rider reported that from the outside barrier his instructions were to take up a forward position. He added that when unable to cross runners to his inside his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. Trainer confirmed the instructions and said those instructions were issued on the basis that he did not want the horse to get too far back in the early stages and to endeavour to take advantage of the relatively light weight of 120 lbs - Race 133. |
