9 L093  VERMILION TEMPEST  07/12/2025   243  VERMILION TEMPEST (L093) prior to the start being effected became fractious in the starting gates, resulting in the hood and bridle being displaced when the starting gate handler was endeavouring to assist the horse. As the Stewards were satisfied that the horse’s gear had been displaced prior to the start being effected and that had prejudiced the horse’s ability to jump and its chances in the race, the horse was declared a non-runner. As a result the horse raced throughout the event with its rider having limited control when the bridle remained displaced - Race 243.

He said in the early stages when a number of runners showed intent to hold an on-pace position and he was caught wide he elected to obtain a trailing position behind a runner. He added when that runner was able to continue forward to obtain a position behind the leader near the 1200M, his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter - Race 159.
