3 9 OUR PAL (BJ290) A S Cruz -- Steadied at start. In last place when checked and lost ground 1000 M out. Remained rear into straight but made up a lot of ground inside final 300 M, doing best work at finish.
4 10 SMILING (BL105) M Kinane -- Ridden to midfield early, but dropped to last few passing 1300 M. Improved steadily early in straight before making good late progress inside final 200 M.
5 13 WINNING CHANCE (BK097) J Marshall -- Settled 4th. Dropped to 5th home bend before looming up to threaten 300 M out. One-paced inside final 100 M.
6 4 DASHING (BK128) A Munro -- Prominent. Took up running passing 1000 M, kicking 2L clear early in straight but unable to hold on over 100 M out.
7 6 FORTUNE RIDE (BK058) E Legrix -- Niggled along in midfield when squeezed and checked 1000 M out, dropping to last approaching home bend. Renewed effort 250 M out and made up good ground in closng stages.
8 3 CHINA CRUISE (BL170) D Gauci -- Well there in 4th early stages before dropping steadily towards rear 1400 M out. Midfield rounding home bend. Just kept on same pace in straight.
9 2 ARMAN'S SAX (BL058) K S Lam -- Rear and was wide rounding home bend. Kept on one pace in straight.
10 8 MCBRAVE (BL047) B Marcus -- Steadied at start but soon improved to 3rd by 1200 M. Gained 2nd rounding home bend. Kept on early in straight before fading 250 M out.
11 14 WONDERFUL MOMENT (BK142) W R Swinburn -- Jumped well. Well there until fading from 3rd under pressure inside final 300 M. (Finished lame.)
