3 6 UNIVERSAL CHARGER (BV172) D Whyte SR Checked at start. From wide gate travelled 2-wide worse than midfield 6-7Ls back. Turned in 4Ls down and 4-wide, then ran on strongly 1-1/2Ls behind winner to grab close 3rd.
4 11 ROUND THE WORLD (CA227) W Woods -- Racing 2-wide 4Ls off pace in 5th position early on. Made steady improvement from 1000 M out to be 3rd place 2Ls down entering straight. Ran on well but one-paced last 100 M and passed by placegetters.
5 1 MAGICAL WARRIOR (CB109) D Dunn -- Settled on fence towards rear and 4Ls back when turning in. Shifted out from rails to find running 200 M out but ran on only evenly.
6 4 DIAMOND TALENTS (BT186) B Marcus B Raced in 3rd or 4th place 2-wide in early stages, gradually creeping up until outside leader HORNET around home bend. Led 300 M out and held every chance until overhauled by rivals inside final 150 M.
7 2 HORNET (BP238) G Mosse -- Pushed to lead from wide gate and sent to race on fence 1200 M out. Joined on home bend, kept on until beginning to tire inside final 200 M.
8 10 CUPID (BV043) E Saint-Martin SR Bounded at start. Raced in 6 or 7th place 5-6Ls behind on fence. Straightened up racing 3 to 4-wide and 3Ls down still 6th. No further impression, kept on one pace to the line.
9 8 MASTER MAGIC (BP193) M Kinane -- Waited with at rear until home stretch. Switched out upon straightening and ran past beaten runners final 200 M.
10 5 NEW ASIANS (BT019) S Dye -- Held up at rear and 2-wide until home bend when beginning to come under pressure. Made up a little late ground.
11 3 MILLENNIUM SUPREME (BV228) F Coetzee B2/TT Raced in 6 or 7th place 2-wide, improving to 4Ls off pace near Rock. Entered straight wide and in 8th position. Unable to quicken and gave ground steadily from 200 M.
