2 4 MADE TO FIGURE (BS161) D Whyte SR Soon settled 6Ls off pace in rear of midfield. 4 or 5Ls down turning in, ran on steadily to claim a distant 2nd without ever looking likely to give winner a race.
3 1 ASIA RISING (BT270) W C Marwing -- Held up 7 or 8Ls off speed towards rear. Not much room at top of home straight, made gradual ground final 300 M when into clear.
4 2 DR MORE (BV164) S Dye -- Settled 2 or 3 wide just forward of midfield. 3-1/2Ls adrift straightening up, kept on same pace before losing 3rd spot close home.
5 3 BULL'S EYE (BV148) F Coetzee -- Midfield on fence before dropping back a bit 1000 M out. Under pressure 500 M out and switched to outer to commence run, made only moderate headway, soon one-paced.
6 10 IMPRESSIONIST (BT077) D Dunn B Held up at the back. Made steady headway final 300 M on outer passing beaten runners.
7 5 MASTER FAY (BV193) G Mosse -- Flew out of gates then niggled to maintain handy position on fence. 2Ls down on straightening and looked a chance until 250 M out when beginning to tire, swamped final stages.
8 7 TRIUMPHANT MASTER (CB209) Y T Cheng -- Bit keen then steadily dropped towards rear. Made some headway after straightening, no extra final 150 M.
9 9 WINNING BOY (BT220) C Williams B/TT Waited with at rear, last into straight, ran past tired runners closing stages.
10 13 NORTHERN FLYER (BS032) K H Ting -- Hard driven from difficult barrier to travel just in front of midfield never less than 3 wide. Unable to find extra after straightening, gave ground steadily from the 300 M.
11 6 FLORAL KING (CB370) H K Yim -- Midfield on rail, came under pressure 500 M out, only very brief effort, soon one-paced and gave ground steadily final 200 M.
12 12 NOBLE BOY (BV222) W M Lai B/TT Ridden to stay in mid-division 3 wide, unable to quicken on straightening when taken wider, gave ground from 150 M.
13 8 EASTERN PURPLE (CB317) S K Sit B Driven to go forward, clear advantage 1000 M out and pinched rail near the 900 M. Headed passing 600 M and was well beaten over 300 M out.
14 11 ESPRESSO (BP205) M W Leung P Broke fairly, steadily improved to be 2Ls off lead 1200 M out. Run ended soon after straightening and dropped away quickly. (Bled.)
