7 5 GOGGLES (CB140) A Marcus H Jumped awkwardly. Soon niggled along to maintain mid-position. Not quite clear room to improve 1st half of the straight on inside. Did not find much when in the clear.
8 6 MERIDIAN STAR (BV177) C Williams SR Threw head up jumping out. At back early improved a little from 1200 M to be worse than midfield. Unable to shift out early straight made up some ground when clear after 200 M.
9 12 CITIZEN KANE (BV260) F Coetzee -- Jumped awkwardly, steadily moved up to dispute lead or lead narrowly. Headed 250 M weakened steadily.
10 10 SHAXI FORTUNE (BT096) S K Sit -- Mainly better than midfield. Under pressure from 400 M. Unable to quicken and further weaken 250 M out.
11 7 SCORE (BS204) D Dunn -- Best out then settled at the back. Wide in early and middle stages. Last into straight and ran past tired horses final 200 M. Never nearer.
12 14 MAN OF HONOUR (BS267) E Legrix H Ridden to lead to 1000 M then sat 2nd inside leader. Disputed lead entering straight. Tired from 250 M out.
13 13 HAPPY MOMENTUM (BV264) M Cahill -- Better than midfield on outside and was unable to get cover. Steadily dropped out from 300 M.
14 1 CHEERS HONG KONG (CA172) W M Lai -- Jumped well and steadily dropped to towards the rear. Never a factor.
