3 6 GALLANT HORSE (CA128) C Williams -- 2 wide just back of midfield, 5 or 6Ls off speed. Under strong pressure from 500 M and ran on steadily to snatch 3rd spot closing stages.
4 8 OLYMPIC GOLD (CC005) W C Marwing -- Driven along fence to secure position in midfield. Kept on one paced in home straight, just missed 3rd place near the line.
5 9 SNIPPETYIYEA (CB311) S Dye -- Ridden but only managed midfield position 2 wide. Kept on same pace under pressure in straight.
6 5 KEV BUSHIDO (BV166) S K Sit SR Jumped awkwardly, knuckled and nearly fell. Quickly recovered to chase leader 3 wide, kept on well in straight and looked like keeping a distant minor placing until run ended and swamped inside 100 M.
7 1 HELENE ELEGANCE (CB004) M W Leung B1 Took a while to muster speed to find handy position 4 wide without cover. Lay in middle stages and struggled to keep up 600 M out. 7 or 8Ls down on straightening, not a threat thereafter.
8 11 REAL WINNER (CB051) H K Yim -- Ridden along but outpaced towards rear. 3 wide, 2nd last and under pressure turning in when rider dropped his whip. Only ran past tired runners late.
9 3 KIMBERLEY MINES (CA367) R Quinn SR-/P1 Jumped fairly, sent on to sit behind leader 2 wide. Hung out middle stages, 2-1/2Ls down straightening up, soon emptied out and dropped away tamely. (Mucus in trachea after race.)
10 12 SCENIC STAR (BS247) W M Lai -- Jumped fairly from wide alley then drifted back steadily towards rear, 4 wide 7 or 8Ls off pace. Under pressure 600 M out, no progress in home straight.
11 2 INDUSTRIAL PRIDE (CB179) G Mosse -- Outpaced and soon last, gradually recovered a little ground to be 3 from rear on fence. Never on terms.
12 10 SNOWSTORM (CB255) E Legrix B2 Jumped clearly but quickly outpaced and dropped to tail despite reminders. Never in the race.
