2 6 FORTUNE LIFE (CB207) C Williams B Midfield shortly after start. Steadied before first turn and settled 2-off the fence behind midfield until straightening. Made a strong run from the outside to grab second place in the closing stages.
3 10 LONGMARK (BT294) P H Lo -- Jumped well and raced comfortably on the lead until being put under pressure on straightening. Held onto lead until being overtaken by the winner inside 100 M and just beaten for second place in final strides.
4 1 ARMONDO (CB387) D Whyte B Wide and about 3Ls of pace going into first turn. Raced within 3Ls of the lead from 2-wide in back straight. Dropped off slightly near 600 M. Regained pace shortly and ran on without threatening the winner.
5 8 STRATEGIC SELECT (CB133) Y T Cheng B From wide draw was soon eased to settle 2-off the fence near rear. Continued to race similar position until being pressured upon straightening. Made up late ground in the final stages.

7 2 GOLD FIELD (CC096) W Smith B1 Slowly away and was racing at the rear of the field through home turn. Did not quicken until 200 M and made up some late ground in the closing stages.
8 5 LUCKY TWINS (CC167) H K Yim B Niggled along early to be near pace. Tracked leader in 2-wide position from 1200 M onwards. Pressured to keep pace 500 M out. Unable to pick up speed in the straight and weakened in the closing stages.
9 4 MADE TO FIGURE (BS161) S Dye B Slightly slow into stride and raced near the rear until straightening. Did not quicken and was one-paced to line.
10 3 ATHLETIC GOLD (CC241) G Schofield -- 3-wide and at rear section early. Remained in similar position in back straight. Widest turning in and was in last place on entering home straight. Found nothing thereafter.
11 11 SHENANEGAN (CC215) A Delpech -- Niggled along to race on fence at midfield. Pressured 500 M out but failed to keep pace. Did not quicken after straightening.
12 9 COUNTRY DRAGON (BV294) F Coetzee -- 3-wide and just behind midfield rounding first turn. Drifted back gradually from 700 M and was 3-wide and near the rear rounding home. No response when asked after straightening and finished in last place.
