2 9 RED BARON (CC220) S Dye B/SR Best out from widest and soon raced 1-1/2Ls off pace 2 to 3 wide. Under pressure to go forward turning for home. Slightly flat in early part of straight but fought back gamely inside final 200 M to take 2nd place.
3 13 DASH FOR VICTORIES (CB389) P H Lo V Began fairly from wide draw and niggled along to race in midfield 3 wide. Pushed along to maintain position at home bend. Ran on well inside final 200 M to grab 3rd place on the line.
4 2 MONZA KING (BV280) D Dunn B Broke fairly from wide draw and soon eased to the tail on fence through to straight. Short for room in early part of straight, obtained running 300 M out and made up good ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
4 12 DOLBRIDGE (BS295) D Boeuf B Slow to begin and raced in worse than midfield on rail. Steadily switched to the outside in straight to obtain clear running. All out 300 M out and ran on well inside final 200 M to miss 3rd place by a narrow margin.
6 1 FANTASTIC STAR (CC294) D Whyte -- Jumped well and soon raced 1-1/2Ls off pace 1 off the rail through to straight. Kept on well when asked 350 M out but weakened slightly in the closing stages and was swamped near the line.
7 8 DANEFACTOR (CA006) G Schofield -- Jumped well from wide draw and niggled along to lead narrowly 2 wide. Near the 1200 M mark eased back to race 1/2L off leader to straight. Ran on fairly when asked 350 M out but weakened slightly in the final stages.
8 6 CHINA CAT (CC114) F Coetzee P1/TT Began well and ridden along to race in better than midfield 2 wide. Pushed along to maintain position turning for home. Unable to quicken when asked 400 M out and kept on evenly to the line.
9 11 FABULOUS (CA152) W Woods -- Soon raced in midfield 2 wide. Around the 800 M whilst proving difficult to settle was awkwardly placed on heels. Unable to go up a gear when asked 400 M out and ran on evenly to the line.
10 3 MASTER MARAUDER (CA184) K McEvoy -- Jumped well and niggled along to race in prominent position on rail. Took lead near 1200 M with 1/2L advantage to straight. Kept on fairly up until the 200 M mark and steadily weakened thereafter.
11 5 DON SEBASTIAN (BS297) W M Lai P-/B2 Soon eased to the rear section 2 wide. Switched wide on straightening to obtain clear running but only able to plug on evenly to the line.
12 14 NAZAKAT II (BV204) C Williams B Raced in midfield on rail through to straight. Under pressure 400 M out but failed to respond and steadily dropped out inside final 250 M.
13 4 ENVOY OF LIGHT (CC105) A Delpech B1/TT1 Broke awkwardly and soon recovered to race in better than midfield on fence. Failed to respond when asked 400 M out and steadily dropped out thereafter. (Mucus in trachea + early "roarer".)
14 10 TRI-STAR (CD098) S K Sit -- Broke fairly from wide draw and was steadily eased to worse than midfield 3 wide. Commenced to lose ground at home turn and tailed out in straight.
